The vacuum goggles offer a precise method for inspecting weld seams. Equipped with a flexible viewing glass and a soft profiled rubber seal, it enables reliable sealing and early detection of defects.
For the application, the weld seam is treated with a foam-forming test agent. The vacuum goggles are positioned over it and connected to a vacuum leak detector. When the air is evacuated, the smallest leaks are made visible through foam formation – a reliable method for quality assurance in plant construction.
The vacuum goggles are available in various sizes to cover circumferential seams from DN 32 to over DN 1000. Variants for fillet and butt welds offer additional flexibility for special requirements.
The seals of the vacuum goggles are made of high-quality foam rubber (20 x 25 mm) and are available in two versions. The soft version adapts ideally to uneven surfaces, but is less mechanically resilient. The hard version has a high mechanical load-bearing capacity, but is less able to compensate for unevenness. Both versions allow the gaskets to be optimally adapted to different areas of application in weld seam testing. Pipeline-Equipment will be happy to assist you in selecting the best gasket for your application.
On request, the seals of the vacuum goggles are also available in special sizes to meet specific requirements for weld seam testing. Individual adaptations enable the use of special geometries or pipe sizes that are outside the standard dimensions.
